Manual Lymph Drainage is recommended soon after (with doctor's permission.) Manual lymph drainage encourages movement of fluid, thus reducing discomfort and pain and improvement of joint flexibility. Healing occurs more quickly. Physical healing from surgical procedures improves dramatically.

Edema is a fluid buildup between cells, due to an overload to the lymphatic system. When the lymphatic system is compromised by such things as an injury, infection, surgery, chronic pain or even by just sitting or standing for long periods of time, the fluid collects and swelling occurs. Most of the time, our bodies compensate and the swelling goes away. When our bodies cannot adapt, assistance is available from someone with special training to manage the proper flow of lymph.
